Frida’s Garden

This is a necklace inspired by a self portrait By Frida Kahlo, as a challenge inspiration from the Art Bead Scene Blog Although the meaning of this painting is full of darkness and despair, I couldn’t ignore the beauty of it. I chose to interpret the lighter side of this painting, using the beautiful color palette and composition!! All the pieces are made from transparent polymer clay, painted individually, baked, and then glazed with different colored iridescent powdered glazes. I then wire them together with bugle seed beads and czech glass beads. It is extremely lightweight!! It has a large lobster clasp closure with extra chain for an adjustable length if desired. Matching earrings are available.
